The new album by Ryan Adams and the Cardinals titled Cardinology. Overall a good set of songs although some of them sound a little bit "déjà écouté", in particular with a strong influence by U2 in some songs (listen to the second video posted, Go Easy).
After an incredible productive period (11 albums since 2000), Ryan Adams decided to take a break. This is what I've found in Wikipedia (always very updated about these rumors): "On January 14, 2009, Ryan Adams announced that he was quitting the Cardinals and taking a break from music after their final show on March 20, 2009 at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Adams cited hearing loss due to Ménière's disease as well as disillusionment with audience behavior as reasons for his decision."

Vicky Cristina Barcelona, the title of the last Woody Allen's movie is quite self explanatory: two American girls, Vicky and Cristina go to Spain to spend their summer in the lively Catalan city. Vicky (Rebecca Hall) is doing her master in Catalan art and she's excited by the idea of spending two months in Barcelona, enjoying the cultural life, and improving her Spanish, before going back to NYC and getting married with his fiancé Doug (Chris Messina). Cristina (Scarlett Johansson), is a naive actress (she just acted on a 12-minutes movie), she is passionate about photography and she is looking for some new 'adventures' in the Spanish movida. Their plans for the summer will be revolutionized by meeting Juan Antonio (Javier Bardem), a Spanish Latino painter and his ex-wife Maria Elena (Penelope Cruz).

Woody Allen is back with a new comedy, after the quite foggy (and somewhat disappointing) Cassandra's dream. The movie is in the perfect 'Allenian tradition': simple, funny, and elegant! However, this time Allen renounces to the presence of his alter ego that characterized almost all movies where is not acting! This choice is probably successful since nobody can act Woody Allen better then Woody Allen himself. Vicky Cristina Barcelona is a really pleasant film, with a nice plot, food actors (in particular Penelope Cruz ready for a nomination at the Academy Awards) and a touch of real, European humor! Barcelona with its streets, buildings such as Parc Guel and Casa Mila, its small bistros with live music and the wonderful countryside around the city (sometimes it seems to be in Central Italy) creates the perfect background for this new, successful comedy! To be seen in the original version to fully appreciate the alternating of English and Spanish in some dialogues!

Comment: again Nick Cave for the third time, after Modena in 2005 and New York (Terminal 5) just a few months ago, and again a great concert by the Australian band. A very good set-list starting with Hold on to yourself from the new album, Dig Lazarus Dig, released last March. Few other songs from the same album, Dig Lazarus Dig, of course, Midnight man and the wonderful Moonland (one of my favorite in the album). Unfortunately, Nick Cave decided to play just two songs from the previous album (that I personally love) Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus and both in the reprise (The Lyre of Orpheus and Get Ready for Love). Beautiful - as usual - Tupelo, Deanna, and Stagger Lee (perfect conclusive song) that characterized all Nick Cave's production. I really appreciated the presence in the set-list of songs like Weeping Song (that I cannot remove from my head) and Papa Won't Leave You Henry.

A particular mention to Warren Ellis: the violinist-guitarist of the Bad Seeds once again surprised me for his energy and his musical talent. I'm probably biased since I love the violinist, but Warren is extraordinary and gives to Nick's exhibition an undoubted unique touch!
The length of the concert has been the only flaw of a show otherwise perfect: only 17 songs and less than 2 hours...from Nick Cave I would expect something more!

Science debate: McCain versus Obama

In the last issue, Nature dedicates a long section about the two candidates for the American presidency. Barack Obama accepted Nature’s invitation to answer 18 science-related questions in writing; while John McCain (obviously) declined. In the new issue you can find all Obama's answers, and wherever possible, Nature has noted what McCain has said at other times on these topics. The topics include importance of science in their "future" presidency, evolution vs intelligent design, stem cells, spatial research, etc.

Here a quick summarize on the question about evolution (of course the one that I was most interested in):

Do you believe that evolution by means of natural selection is a sufficient explanation for the variety and complexity of life on Earth? Should intelligent design, or some derivative thereof, be taught in science class in public schools?

Obama: I believe in evolution, and I support the strong consensus of the scientific community that evolution is scientifically validated. I do not believe it is helpful to our students to cloud discussions of science with non-scientific theories like intelligent design that are not subject to experimental scrutiny.

McCain said last year, in a Republican primary debate: "I believe in evolution. But I also believe, when I hike the Grand Canyon and see it at sunset, that the hand of God is there also. In 2005, he told the Arizona Daily Star that he thought 'all points of view' should be available to students studying the origins of humanity. But the next year a Colorado paper reported him saying that such viewpoints should not be taught in science class.

Personal comment: remember that McCain's VP, Sarah Palin, however completely supports the teaching of Intelligent Design in science class... :-(

A great song by Dirty Three, an instrumental trio consisting of Warren Ellis (violin), Mick Turner (electric guitar) and Jim White (drums), originating from Melbourne, Australia. Warren Ellis, also playing with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Grinderman, is also the composer, together with Nick Cave, of two amazing soundtracks: The Proposition (2005) by John Hillcoat and The Assassination of Jesse James (2007) by Coward Robert Ford. I love his violin and his passion and eccentricity in playing it!

After Cassadaga - probably one of the best studio album by Bright Eyes (though it's very difficult to decide) - Conor Oberst is back with a brand new album but this time alone...or better with a new band: the Mystic Valley Band. The new album is probably a consequence of the restless productivity of the singer from Omaha (five albums in the last 2 years). In fact, according to some sources (read Wikipedia) after the tour with The Mistic Valley Band (probably by the end of November), Conor will be ready to work on a new album with Bright Eyes.

The self titled album (Conor Oberst) is not completely different from the previous one by Bright Eyes, and can be considered a good follow-up. The country-folk rock element plays of course a more important role in particular in some songs, such as NYC-Gone, Gone and I don't want to die (in a hospital). The Bright Eyes's style is however still present in several songs - that I sincerely prefer over others.
Conor Oberst has been considered many times the new Bob Dylan, both for his music and thoughtful lyrics...well, it's difficult to compare someone to the "history of the American rock" (though one of the worst artist in a concert) but without any doubts the young singer from Nebraska is one of the best song writer, voice and interpreter of the current independent rock, and, despite his over productivity, the quality of his works is still really high.

Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band (featuring ) are on tour around the US and I already have the ticket for November 9, at Terminal 5, New York City!!!

The smallest monkey...

This is Cebuella (or Callithrix) pygmaea, the smallest living monkey: less than 20cm and only 120-140g of weight. Of course it's not the smallest primate (mouse lemurs are less than a third) but still...it's wonderful!!! This is one of the ten species of primates that you can meet here in the Yasuni National Park, Ecuador. I had the great pleasure to see all of them in just 4 weeks... :-)

Some pictures of caymans that we saw in the river close to the camp. They should be at least three species but...I honestly cannot recognize them so take for what it is.
By the way, the same day in the afternoon I was swimming in that river without being aware of the presence of these reptiles...no comment!!!

Here some pics of the first week in Ecuador. Well, nothing really special since I haven't brought my camera in the field yet. So just some spiders, turtles and monkeys (the latter in semi-ranging in Coca b4 arriving at the research station). Hope to take my camera (and my brand new lens in the field asap and take some good shots: the monkeys are really beautiful and I regretted not to have the camera with me in these four days...). BTW yesterday I went to a boat trip at night and we saw a lot of caymans...I will post some pics tomorrow if the internet connection will work properly.

Finally I'm in Ecuador: I will spend the next two months in the forest studying monkeys (I know it may sound strange...and I'm paid to do that :-) ). In my blog I wanna try to report some of this experience. I won't have a lot of time to update the blog but the main idea is to post some pics and comments from the field to share this experience with all of you. Who cares?! Well, probably nobody but since I've never been able to keep a diary, this is a way to force me in that direction!
Tomorrow I'm leaving for the forest: I should arrive in the late evening after a flight from Quito to Coca (great name for a city - actually the real name is Puerto Francisco de Orellana), a boat trip on the Rio Napo and a couple of hour by car. Hope to take some good shots at least on the boat.

“Il petrolio e gli altri combustibili fossili sono in via di esaurimento, ma anche l’uranio è destinato a scarseggiare entro 35-40 anni. Non possiamo continuare perciò a elaborare piani energetici sulla base di previsioni sbagliate che rischiano di portarci fuori strada. Dobbiamo sviluppare la più importante fonte energetica che la natura mette da sempre a nostra disposizione, senza limiti, a costo zero: e cioè il sole che ogni giorno illumina e riscalda la terra”.

"Quando è stato costruito l’ultimo reattore in America? Nel 1979, trent’anni fa! Quanto conta il nucleare nella produzione energetica francese? Circa il 20 per cento. Ma i costi altissimi dei loro 59 reattori sono stati sostenuti di fatto dallo Stato per mantenere l’arsenale atomico. Ricordiamoci che per costruire una centrale nucleare occorrono 8-10 anni di lavoro che la tecnologia proposta si basa su un combustibile, l’uranio appunto, di durata limitata. Poi resta, in tutto il mondo, il problema delle scorie”.

“Non esiste un nucleare sicuro. O a bassa produzione di scorie. Esiste un calcolo delle probabilità, per cui ogni cento anni un incidente nucleare è possibile: e questo evidentemente aumenta con il numero delle centrali."

"Il carbone è la fonte energetica più inquinante, più pericolosa per la salute dell’umanità. Ma non si risolve il problema nascondendo l’anidride carbonica sotto terra. In realtà nessuno dice quanto tempo debba restare, eppure la CO2 dura in media fino a 30 mila anni, contro i 22 mila del plutonio. No, il ritorno al carbone sarebbe drammatico, disastroso”.

“C'è un impianto per la produzione di energia solare, costruito nel deserto del Nevada su progetto spagnolo. Costa 200 milioni di dollari, produce 64 megawatt e per realizzarlo occorrono solo 18 mesi. Con 20 impianti di questo genere, si produce un terzo dell’elettricità di una centrale nucleare da un gigawatt. E i costi, oggi ancora elevati, si potranno ridurre considerevolmente quando verranno costruiti in gran quantità. Basti pensare che un ipotetico quadrato di specchi, lungo 200 chilometri per ogni lato, potrebbe produrre tutta l’energia necessaria all’intero pianeta. E un’area di queste dimensioni equivale appena allo 0,1 per cento delle zone desertiche del cosiddetto sun-belt. Per rifornire di elettricità un terzo dell’Italia, un’area equivalente a 15 centrali nucleari da un gigawatt, basterebbe un anello solare grande come il raccordo di Roma”.

"I nuovi impianti solari termodinamici a concentrazione catturano l’energia e la trattengono in speciali contenitori fino a quando serve. Poi, attraverso uno scambiatore di calore, si produce il vapore che muove le turbine. Né più né meno come una diga che, negli impianti idroelettrici, ferma l’acqua e al momento opportuno la rilascia per alimentare la corrente”.

Se è così semplice, perché allora non si fa?

“Il sole non è soggetto ai monopoli. E non paga la bolletta. Mi creda questa è una grande opportunità per il nostro Paese: se non lo faremo noi, molto presto lo faranno gli americani, com’è accaduto del resto per il computer vent’anni fa”.

Si dice che chi inizia bene e' a meta' dell'opera vero?! Beh allora il nuovo governo Berlusconi avra' un grande futuro. Sono proprio felice si vedere persone esperte e competenti nei posti giusti, come Bondi all'istruzione o La Russa alla difesa. Non male anche la tanto promessa presenza femminile: ben 4 ministri e uno solo (la Prestigiacomo) con portafoglio! Per non parlare del neo-ministro Mara Carfagna: chiedevamo ministri giovani e donne e eccoci accontentati con una sorta di ex-velina (o show-girl di bassa lega) approdata alla politica chissa' in quale modo (preferisco non investigare). Come direbbe la Littizzetto se questa e' la presenza femminile, beh ne facevamo anche a meno. Un unico dubbio: come mai non hanno messo Giorgio Mastrota all'economia?! Mi sembrava anche lui un tipo adatto... Ops, scusate mi dimenticavo che il posto e' occupato da un ministro di successo come Tremonti. Chissa' cosa si inventera' questa volta per coprire la sua incapacita' visto che non ha piu' l'euro come scusa?! Beh dai con questa bellissima squadra di governo possiamo almeno sperare che Cortellesi e Guzzanti ritornino alle loro imitazioni...magra consolazione...

Commento sulle elezioni italiane...

...ce n'era proprio bisogno?! Forse no, ma ho delle impressioni, dei commenti che voglio condividere sul mio blog e quindi ho deciso di scrivere questo post.

Come tutti ormai sanno ha di nuovo vinto Silvio Berlusconi e la sua coalizione di centro-destra. Si potrebbe dire di tutto riguardo questo risultato ricordando i 5 anni del suo precedente governo, ma e' un dato di fatto che e' evidente che e' questo che vogliono gli Italiani ormai da 15 anni a questa parte. Dopo le elezioni del 1994 e la caduta a causa della lega, ha ottenuto un plebiscito alle elezioni del 2001 ottenendo una maggioranza tale che ha potuto governare per ben 5 anni: unico governo dai tempi della DC in grado di terminare la sua legislatura! Nel 2006 dopo 5 anni di disastroso governo (sono i conti che parlano non io) perde di un soffio (una vera manciata di voti al punto che tutt'oggi non si sa chi ha veramente vinto) dalla sinistra che sembrava destinata a dominare. Certo si potrebbe invocare una legge elettorale pessima, creata ad hoc per quelle elezioni, ma ieri con la stessa le legge elettorale e' riuscito ad ottenere una maggioranza netta! Il risultato e' eclatante soprattutto se si pensa che nel cosiddetto PDL non c'era nessuna novita' se non l'uscita di scena di Casini che, a rigor di logica, avrebbe potuto solo indebolire la coalizione FI-AN! Ancora piu' eclatante se si pensa che nell'altro schieramento invece c'era un volto nuovo o quasi (chiamare Veltroni volto nuovo fa un poco ridere in realta'), un nuovo partito che finalmente aveva avuto il coraggio di staccarsi dalla sinistra estrema e dal peso di Prodi! Certo due anni di governo pessimo hanno pesato su questa elezione (e non poco) ma sta di fatto che Berlusconi ha vinto nettamente e verosimilmente governerà per altri 5 anni. Possiamo dire che sarà ostaggio della Lega (imbarazzante risultato elettorale) ma non sara' così: Berlusconi sa benissimo cosa deve fare per tenere a bada Bossi & C. e l'assenza di Casini all'interno del PDL giochera' solo a suo favore.

L'unico dato positivo che vedo in queste elezioni 2008 e' l'uscita di scena della sinistra radicale (la cosidetta Sinistra Arcobaleno) che da anni giocava il finto ruolo del partito riformista e che invece fungeva da peso per qualsiasi riforma in campo economico e sociale. Questo risultato conferma però un altro dato ancora piu' importante che va tenuto in considerazione: l'Italia non e' e forse non sara' mai un paese moderno, riformista e soprattutto laico: il risultato e' chiaro e va accettato a malincuore per chi come me crede nella liberta di pensiero! Lontane sono le rivoluzioni degli anni '60 e lontane sono quelle piu' recenti avvenute in Spagna. Il problema e' che sono gli italiani a non volere un cambiamento in tal senso ed e' inutile che recriminare contro le ingerenze della chiesa perche' agli italiani va bene così. Rassegnamoci a vivere in paese che mai investira' nella ricerca e tecnologia, in paese che non dara' mai uguali diritti alle persone, in un paese che sara' sempre soggetto a una morale obbligata che si voglia o no bisognera' imparare a convivere con tutto questo! L'unica cosa che si può fare oggi e' sperare (a malincuore) che il nuovo governo duri l'intera legislatura perche' l'Italia ha bisogno di stabilita' politica, di ripresa economica e ne ha bisogno ora altrimenti sara' troppi tardi. Non possiamo perdere tempo nei giochetti di potere, nei voti di fiducia, nelle riforme a meta' e soprattutto nei governi fantoccio che non durano neanche il tempo di scegliere i presidenti delle camere. Bisogna riconoscere (ancora a malincuore) che la sinistra in Italia non e' stata e non e' in grado oggi di dare questa stabilita' e solo un suo spostamento verso posizioni più moderate e centriste (cosa d'altronde gia' fatto con la nascita del PD) potra' permettere in futuro di governare...ovviamente solo nella era post-Berlusconi!

Che piaccia o no l'Italia e' questa e quello che vogliono gli Italiani...ma onestamente (ed egoisticamente) io mai come ora sono felice di vivere all'estero!

"Contro la precarietà? Sposare mio figlio o un milionario"

Questa sembrerebbe essere l'ultima uscita di quel genio di Berlusconi che dopo quelle dei giorni scorsi su fascismo e compagnia ne ha pensata un 'altra delle sue...chissa' da dove gli escono (io un'idea ce l'avrei). Sembra che stia facendo di tutto per perdere anche queste elezioni (cosa che d'altronde vedo comunque molto dura...purtroppo).

Assurdo pensare che non abbia un minimo di rispetto per chi ha un lavoro che dura solo pochi mesi o per chi il lavoro proprio non ce l'ha. Beh forse quando sei una delle persone piu' ricche di Italia non e' facile entrare nella testa di un "poveraccio qualsiasi".

Forse dovremmo anche noi usare la sua strategia: associarsi con delinquenti, fare affari senza fregarsene della legge, riempirsi le tasche a scapito dei suoi dipendenti e poi, quando la barca sta colando a picco e sei sommerso di debiti e processi, entrare in politica e farsi votare - grazie alla monopolizzazione dei mezzi di informazione - dalla maggioranza degli italiani (che mostrano la loro stupidita' per ben due volte)...mah...per fortuna al mondo c'e' chi ha ancora un minimo di etica e di pudore e preferisce essere precario piuttosto che delinquente.
Una cosa e' certa: preferisco morire di fame sui bordi della strada che diventare parente di Berlusconi!!!

Caro Veltroni, caro Bertinotti, cari dirigenti del centro-sinistra tutti,
ora basta!
L’offensiva clericale contro le donne – spesso vera e propria crociata bigotta - ha raggiunto livelli intollerabili. Ma egualmente intollerabile appare la mancanza di reazione dello schieramento politico di centro-sinistra, che troppo spesso è addirittura condiscendenza.
Con l’oscena proposta di moratoria dell’aborto, che tratta le donne da assassine e boia, e la recente ingiunzione a rianimare i feti ultraprematuri anche contro la volontà della madre (malgrado la quasi certezza di menomazioni gravissime), i corpi delle donne sono tornati ad essere “cose”, terreno di scontro per il fanatismo religioso, oggetti sui quali esercitare potere.
Lo scorso 24 novembre centomila donne – completamente autorganizzate – hanno riempito le strade di Roma per denunciare la violenza sulle donne di una cultura patriarcale dura a morire. Queste aggressioni clericali e bigotte sono le ultime e più subdole forme della stessa violenza, mascherate dietro l’arroganza ipocrita di “difendere la vita”. Perciò non basta più, cari dirigenti del centro-sinistra, limitarsi a dire che la legge 194 non si tocca: essa è già nei fatti messa in discussione. Pretendiamo da voi una presa di posizione chiara e inequivocabile, che condanni senza mezzi termini tutti i tentativi – da qualunque pulpito provengano – di mettere a rischio l’autodeterminazione delle donne, faticosamente conquistata: il nostro diritto a dire la prima e l’ultima parola sul nostro corpo e sulle nostre gravidanze.

Negli Stati Uniti durante la campagna per le primarie democratiche, Barak Obama ha lanciato il motto "YES, WE CAN" che ormai circola ampiamente in tutto il mondo e qualcuno ha pensato bene di fare anche una versione cantata del famoso discorso del ex senatore dell'Illinois (vedi post in versoitaca).

Anche in Italia (purtroppo nell'ennesima crisi politica e destinata a prossime elezioni) si e' sparsa questa moda, e Veltroni, candidato per il Partito Democratico, dopo aver copiato il nome del partito (si presentera' anche con l'asino...ops no l'aveva gia' fatto Prodi all'Europee di qualche anno fa se non sbaglio?!) ne ha copiato anche il motto: SI PUO' FARE!!

Qualcuno (Paolo) mi ha fatto pero' notare che in italiano prende un po' una piega diversa, del tipo "ma si'....quasi quasi...si puo' fare...perche' no..." ...insomma una vera e propria versione all'italiana!!!

Today it's the Super Tuesday here in US and it will be probably a critical step in order to decide both the democratic and the republican candidates for the 2008 election next November! Largest Elephant Shrew Discovered in Africa

An elephant among elephant shrews has been found in remote forests in East Africa, scientists announced today.

The previously unknown, squirrel-size species is the world's largest known elephant shrew and the only new species from the group to be discovered in more than a century, wildlife researchers say.

Weighing about 1.5 pounds (700 grams), the gray-faced sengi (Rhynchocyon udzungwensis) is up to 50 percent heavier than the next largest species of elephant shrew, according to the study team that named the long-snouted creature.

The animal was first identified in 2005 by motion-sensing cameras set up in the Udzungwa Mountains of south-central Tanzania by Francesco Rovero of the Trento Museum of Natural Sciences in Italy.

Sto leggendo Elianto di Stefano Benni e alla fine del quarto capitolo mi sono imbattuto in questa frase e mi ha fatto venire in mente la nostra situazione politica italiana...forse non proprio tutto e' fantasia...che tristezza!!!

I thought to write this news in my blog first among my friends...unfortunately someone "stole my idea" or he has been simply faster than me!!! :-)

Woody Allen is one of my favorite director and I'm happy to find again something 'unique' in his movies! Look here to read the original news and see some examples of his classical "white type on black opening titles"! It's sad that here in US people do not appreciate his 'genius'!

La Grammatica di Dio
Storie di solitudine e allegria

"Nella notte, quasi nel delirio, il signor Remo si destava e vedeva gli occhi spalancati e amorevoli del cane, e le lunghe orecchie dritte, come antenne. E sembrava dire: anche la morte mordero', padrone mio, se si avvicina a te. Nell'anima ormai riarsa del signor Remo, l'odio per quell'amore smisurato crebbe..."

Ho appena finito di leggere il nuovo libro di Stefano Benni (per inciso uno dei miei autori italiani preferiti). Un libro di brevi racconti il cui tema principale e' senza ombra di dubbio la solitudine; un libro un po' diverso in cui la fantasia, l'assurdita' e l'allegria dell'autore bolognese - sebbene presenti in quasi tutti i racconti - lasciano spazio a pensieri un po' piu' tristi e malinconici. Siamo lontani dai tempi de La compagnia dei Celestini (primo suo libro letto e che mi e' rimasto nel cuore), di Saltatempo (forse il migliore) o di Bar Sport, ma comunque un bel libro piacevole che si legge volentieri e velocemente anche grazie alla struttura a racconti brevi. Benni torna infatti ai brevi racconti questa volta slegati uno dall'altro diversamente dal Bar sotto il mare, Bar Sport e Bar Sport 2000. Un Benni forse un po' invecchiato che smette i panni dell'eterno bambino pieno di curiosota' e fantasia e guarda al futuro (o forse al passato) con un velo di tristezza: sesso, solitudine, magia, morte e amore si intrecciano nei vari racconti con un Italia a volte del passato a volte del presente (ma quasi sempre popolare) che fa da cornice. Bellissimi sia il racconto di inizio e quello finale; 'Pari e Patta' - seppur deboluccio - rievoca lo scontro tra Achille ed Ettore in il Bar Sotto il Mare ma l'intesita' e' diversa, lo spirito cambiato. In internet trovate anche chi ha deciso di giudicare uno ad uno i vari racconti che compongono il libro...io preferisco consigliarvi di leggerlo perche' sebbene forse un po' sottotono Benni ha sempre la capacita' di divertire e far riflettere nello stesso tempo!

L'AUTORE: Stefano Benni, giornalista, scrittore e poeta italiano, nasce a Bologna il 12 agosto del 1947. E' autore di vari romanzi e antologie tra cui Bar Sport, Elianto, Il Bar Sotto il Mare, Saltatempo, Baol e La Compagnia dei Celestini. Ha collaborato con L'Espresso, Panorama, La Repubblica, Il Manifesto e molti ancora. Autore di teatro e amante del Jazz e' autore anche di Misterioso. Viaggio nel silenzio di Thelonius Monk (con Umberto Petrin) e del cd-libro Baldanders, opera di 11 racconti di Benni, letti dall'autore e musicati da Paolo Fresu e orchestra.

Friday at the MoMA in NYC

I spent last Friday at the MoMA (Museum of Modern Art)...probably one of the most beautiful museum in New York City (just a piece of advice: go on Friday after 4pm cause it's FREE!!!).
Within the permanent collection some masterpieces such as van Gogh's Starry Night, Pablo Picasso's painting Les Demoiselles d'Avignon and Campbell's Soup Cans by Andy Andy Warhol just to mention a few!

After a long battle against Microsoft (and in particular against Vista: the worst OS that I've ever used...maybe worse than Millennium...if possible) I decided to buy a Mac. This is my new "baby": hope to be more lucky than in the past otherwise I will come back to pen and paper!!! :-)

Counting Crows: the new album!

As some of you probably know one of my favourite bands, the Counting Crows, will release Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings next March, 25: a new studio album after Hard Candy (2002)!!! It's now available of their website an EP with two new songs 1492 and When I dream of Michelangelo. Look forward to listen to this new work and hope it will be as good as the previous ones. So far I love the album cover: maybe cause I'm living in New York but I think it's really nice!!! This is how I see New York with my eyes...
